Asking the Bridesmaids

I just asked some of my bridesmaids to be in the wedding.  I say some only because I chose 3 girls and my fiancee is currently thinking that he wants 6 guys.  We will even it out somehow in the future (we do have a year and a half after all) but for now, I just wanted to ask 3 so that I can go dress shopping with the two who live in FL when I'm down there in a month.

One of my maids sent me a link to a blog with this idea on it and I LOVED it! So I did them to match my wedding and the girls were surprised and happy to receive the boxed in the mail :-)

My Boxes:

How I made the boxes:

I used unfinished wood boxes from the craft store that had picture frames in the tops.  I spray painted the boxes w/ a wood compatible navy mat finish paint (2-3 coats of paint) and stamped around the frame with gold ink and a large decorative stamp.  The ink was rubbing off a bit so i used a clear mat spray paint to give the boxes a top coat (about 3 coats actually).  I filled the inside of the boxes w/ inspiration pictures for the day and for the girls' dresses.  I also included cards about the day, the girls' roles, and the girls' outfits.  Finally, I added some decorative touches to the boxes that will also be seen at the wedding (Ivory fabric, pink hydrangeas, and pearls).  To finish each box, I put a picture of me and each girl in the frame.
